July 2020 Midwest Conference Going Virtual  by Ted Blaney The Orvonton Society has made the decision to cancel the scheduled September 26-27 Midwest Conference in Cincinnati due  to the continuing  high uncertainty of the COVID-19 threat by fall. We are in the early stages of considering the possibility of a zoom conference in its place.  Dana Bredemeyer is picking up responsibility to gather possible format/program ideas for a zoom conference.

The General Council Has Two New Councilors

Douglas Burns Douglas recently worked with the board of Golden Gate Circle updating the Constitution and Bylaws of the Society. He has been in a number of study groups over the years and is currently studying with he Walnut Creek, California group and is the chair of their membership committee.

He has been reading the Urantia Book since 1976. And, in the last 5 years has pursued an in-depth study of the Urantia Book.  His Hopes and Ideas for the book: "I hope to help others study and enjoy the teachings of the Urantia Book as much as I do. I would love to see curriculum developed to make the study groups more effective." His Hopes and Ideas for the Fellowship: "My biggest hope is to encourage greater engagement and partnership with the Foundation and the UAI. " Service Motivation: "I believe that I can be of service in the regular business of the GC and I have a strong willingness to contribute to solving problems. I would also like to work closely with others who deeply believe and follow the teaching of the Urantia Book."

Michael Perrie Michael has been a reader and student of Urantia Book since 1972. He attended IC17 in Denver.  In addition he has attended a local study group since summer of 2018.  His hope is that the wonderful loving message of the UB become spread throughout our world.

His Hopes and Ideas for the Fellowship "To continue and support the work of actively bringing the Urantia Book out into the world." His Service Motivation "To begin a greater contribution to the expansion of the Urantia Book message." Additional Information "My spiritual path began as a mystic in my early 20's, which is when I was given a copy of the UB, and has ever since slowly developed into an increasing outer expression of sharing the story of Jesus' sweet message. I followed my inner calling to become a Unity minister in 2013, and now work at the world headquarters of the Unity movement in Unity Village, MO (well, up until we started working remotely just recently). I now am guided to step forward and begin a greater sharing of my love of the UB."

Pipeline of Light Report by Michelle Klemish June 30, 2020 Dear Friends, During the past six months, our Pipeline of Light volunteers placed two hundred and fourteen copies of The Urantia Book into nine countries. Your donations to the Pipeline helped us deliver books to readers and study groups in Mexico, Canada, the United States, Ukraine, Chile, Germany, Camaroon, Argentina, and a new country for our list, Bermuda. Books sent out this period include one hundred eighty-one English books, fifteen Spanish translations, five French books, ten German, and four Russian. The current effort brings our Pipeline all-time totals to nine thousand, six hundred and ninety two copies of The Urantia Book placed into ninety one countries around the world. Many thanks to the wonderful volunteers who keep this flow of books moving into the world for us! Radio Urantia: The Light of Revelation  by Agustin Arellano  Radio Urantia station made its first test transmission on May 15, 2018, and within a month the Centova platform was obtained to allow professional radio delivery. Jorge Arcega began as president of the radio station when it was launched. Today, Mora Franco is president.  Our motto is "Radio Urantia: The Light of Revelation.” Our purpose is to make available a series of audio materials that can help the general public to better understand the teachings of The Urantia Book. Spanish Outreach Committee Report by Pablo Segovia After our March meeting this year, Jack Halloway and I started working with the help of Cristina Seaborn to create a small survey that would help us identify the potential leaders of South America and Spain, and see what their immediate needs were in terms of resources to communicate with readers of the book.  By the time we decided to close the survey we had just over 50 people who had answered it out of a total of 500 emails sent.  This is a similar proportion obtained in the survey in English that David Schlundt conducted.
