It would seem that Scientology, whilst having very powerful effects on his psyche, has not been able to help him with his Relationships.
His mother is a powerful influence in his life.
Like many people, he has not been able to untie the apron strings with his mother.
As a normal heterosexual guy, Tom makes strong connections with his wives but the Energy Connections into the second chakra, Swadisthan Chakra are originally created by the Mother. The umbilical cord is cut, but into the same location follow the energy connections from the Mother which feed energetically and keep the baby alive.
When the baby is weaned, naturally the Energy Cords are cut, freeing up the person for sexual relationships and marriage.
However, if there is a strong bond between mother and child, sometimes the child can not get free of the Mother connection, in order to become free to have other relationships.
The result is homosexuality or feeble relationships with the opposite sex.
As the female connections are used up by the Mother, only the male connections remain for relationships.
As the strong energy connections between man and woman recede, so the connections with the mother return.
His wives all felt the return of the Mother connection into Tom's abdomen as a lack of sexual interest.
Only a new relationship could revive the interest in sex, which again subsides with the return of the Mother connection.
Thus three wives, and Tom is not alone in this.
Many people are serial monogamists and worse because of an inability to control the "Ties that Bind"; the parental connection into the second chakra of the child.
The lack of ability to control the "Psychic Sexual Connection" is the main cause of sexual problems and sexual perversions on this planet.
