Imagine for a moment that you were born in the year 1900. At the age of 14, the First World War breaks out, which ends at the age of 18, leaving 22 million dead.
Shortly after, a global pandemic appears, the Spanish flu, which kills 50 million people. And you survive, at 20 years old.
At the age of 29, you survive the global economic crisis that begins with the fall of the New York Stock Exchange, causing inflation, unemployment and hunger.
At the age of 33, Nazism comes to power.
When you are 39 years old, World War II begins and ends when you are 45, with 60 million deaths.
At the age of 52, the Korean War begins.
When you are 64 years old, the Vietnam War begins and ends when you are 75.
Then a person born in 1985 thinks that his grandparents have no idea how difficult life is, not knowing that they have survived several wars and catastrophes.
Currently, after having gone through a pandemic. We are scared and tired. We have lost friends and family, we are afraid.
But in the past, the conditions were even worse, but humanity survived in those conditions and overcame.
Believe me, better days are waiting for us.
